Thematic report “Fraudulent Property Transactions” was published on August 28, 2017 on the website of the EU project “Protection and Promotion of Property Rights of Internally Displaced People, Refugees and Returnees Upon Readmission Agreements”.

The thematic reported was written by Ms Mary Martha Walsh, expert for social matters with years of experience in working with the international organization i KiM, who dedicated her efforts to researching the violated rights of IDPs in Kosovo and Metohija. The report focuses on fraudulent transactions of the properties of IDPs in KiM, whose property was illegally occupied after their displacement, institutional obstacles in solving these cases and the importance of international organization involvement. The examples of these type of cases are also described in the report, as well as the suggestion for overcoming the obstacles in solving the fraudulent transaction cases.

The draft report was presented in the panel discussion organized on June 30, 2017. Besides the project’s legal experts, representatives of relevant institutions and organization working with IDPs attended the panel discussion.

This is the second report published by the free legal aid project, that aims to shed a light to problems people displaced from Kosovo and Metohija face in executing their basic human rights, as well as to propose potential solutions for overcoming these obstacles.
