OPEN DOOR EVENT FOR IDPs IN ARANĐELOVAC
The legal team from the Belgrade office of the Free Legal Aid Project presented the legal assistance provided by the project to the gathered internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Aranđelovac.
As part of the Open Doors event, held on June 26, 2024, in cooperation with the local Commissioner for Refugees and Migration, about 15 internally displaced persons residing in this municipality attended. Our legal advisors explained the project’s mandate, the legal issues for which we offer free legal aid, and the assistance mechanisms available to them.
After the project presentation, the legal team held meetings with those IDPs who needed legal assistance, resulting in the opening of four new cases. The team also met with the coordinator for Roma issues in Aranđelovac, to whom they presented the legal assistance available to returnees under the readmission agreement.
The Open Door event in Aranđelovac is the second of its kind organized within the project’s mandate, and similar events will be held in the coming months in other municipalities with a larger number of IDPs and returnees under the readmission agreement.
