Mobile Team of Free Legal Aid Project visited Vladimirovac

The project’s mobile teams keep on visiting internally displaced people throughout Serbia in purpose of providing more efficient free legal aid. This week, Junior Legal Adviser Maja Lakušić and trainees Đorđe Popić and Slobodan Milovanović met in Vladimirovac, Alibunar Municipality, with eight internally displaced people from Kosovo and Metohija who have legal issues, but are not able to visit the nearest project’s office due to bad health or financial situation.

While making a house visit to an IDP from the village Grace, Vucitrn Municipality, the lawyers determined a viable legal issue regarding the usurped land in Kosovo and Metohija. The application for the client was filled out and the documentation necessary for starting the legal process was collected.

The mobile team met with seven IDPs that day at the local community center Vladimirovac. It is determined that five clients have legal issues regarding their properties in KiM, two of them are illegal occupations, two issues are related to the damage compensation and one is determining ownership of the property. The team filled out the applications for free legal aid and collected the necessary documentation.

The team determined that two clients had legal issues that were not in the scope of the project. They offered those client on-spot legal advice.

The field visit in Vladimirovac was implemented in collaboration with the municipal trustee for refugees and migration in the Alibunar Municipality and it is part of the activities of „Protection and Promotion of Property Rights of Internally Displaced People, Refugees and Returnees Upon Readmission Agreements“ project.
