Free Legal Aid Services Presented in Lebane on the Occasion of International Roma Day

On International Roma Day, a conference dedicated to economic empowerment and legal support for the Roma community was held at the Cultural Centre in Lebane, where available free legal aid services were also presented to citizens.

During the event, the mobile team of the Free Legal Aid Project from Niš introduced the types of legal support available to beneficiaries, with a particular focus on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees under readmission agreements. The importance of timely information and access to free legal services was emphasized as a key step towards exercising rights and resolving legal issues.

Given that a significant number of Roma community members, including returnees, live in the municipality of Lebane, free legal aid was highlighted as an important mechanism supporting their social and legal reintegration.

Informational materials containing contact details of project offices were distributed to participants to facilitate continued access to free legal aid services.

The activities in Lebane confirmed the importance of field outreach and direct engagement with beneficiaries, as well as the need for continued cooperation with local stakeholders in order to improve access to justice for the most vulnerable groups.
