FREE LEGAL AID FOR RETURN FAMILIES IN SUBOTICA AND BAJMOK

Mobile team from the free legal aid project’s Belgrade office visited on the 14th of August 2019 returnees upon readmission agreements in Subotica and Bajmok.

The two-member team of a Junior Legal Adviser Mia Fukuda Sofijanić and a Senior Legal Adviser Vladimir Mojsilović met with three families of returnees who needed a legal assistance regarding the issuing of their personal documents and registering with the birth register. On this occasion, the team filled out eight applications for free legal aid.

This field visit is organized in collaboration with the Subotica based civil association “Edukativni centar Roma”, which signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the project in May this year. Apart from this association, the project so far has signed the MoUs with another four associations working with Roma population with purpose to increase a reach-out among returnees who need legal assistance to exercise their rights and integrate in their environment upon return to Serbia.
