The report “Destroyed and Damaged Property of Internally Displaced People from Kosovo and Metohija” Published
The thematic report “Destroyed and damaged property of internally displaces people from Kosovo and Metohija” was posted to the website of the EU project “Protection and Promotion of Internally Displaces People, Refugees and Returnees Upon Readmission Agreements”.
The report, written by the expert for legal and social matters Branislav Ristić, focuses on the problems of IDPs from Kosovo and Metohija whose property was damaged or destroyed during the conflict or was illegally usurped. The report explains the circumstances in which the damage occurred, problems for collecting the damage compensation, institutional obstacles as well as the examples of material and non-material damage inflicted to non-Albanian population in KiM during the conflict.
The draft report was presented on the Thematic Working Group organized on June 5, 2017. Besides the project’s legal experts, the event was attended by the representatives of relevant institutions and organization that work with IDPs from KiM.
Thematic reports focusing on problems of IDPs from Kosovo and Metohija and protection of their basic human rights are part of the project activities that aim to explore the problems of vulnerable groups and suggest possible solutions.
