
Тhe Free Legal Aid Project presented the final thematic report
The EU funded project “Protection and Promotion of Property Rights of Internally Displaced Persons, Refugees and Returnees Upon Readmission Agreements”, beneficiary of which is the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, organized on the presentation of the thematic report “Consequences of transfer of jurisdiction from EULEX to local institutions” on Tuesday, the 25th of September 2018.
Mr. Basil Henry, the author of the Report and expert of social matters, presented the Report giving an overview of the role and influence EULEX have had, as well as the consequences of transferring the jurisdiction from EULEX to local institutions in Kosovo and Metohija.
The event, attended by the representatives of UNHCR, OSCE, Commiserate for Refugees and Migrations, Office for KiM and relevant associations, was opened by the project’s Key Expert 2 Zoran Popovic. Beside the Senior Legal Experts Vladimir Mojsilovic and Jasmina Zupanjac, who pointed out the importance of ELUX in KiM through their experience on the field, the Head of Judiciary Group of the Office for KiM addressed the attendees.
The thematic report “Consequences of transfer of jurisdiction from EULEX to local institutions“ is the last report developed and presented by the current Free legal aid project. Over the course of its mandate, the project presented nine thematic reports focusing on long-term problems of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the institutional obstacles they face in exercising their basic human rights.
