OPEN DOOR FOR IDPs AND READMISSION RETURNEES IN VRANJE
The legal team from the project office in Niš held an Open Door event on March 17, 2025, for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees under the Readmission Agreement in Vranje,
During the event, our legal advisors presented the project’s mandate, the types of legal issues for which we provide free legal aid, and the assistance mechanisms available to beneficiaries.
Following the presentation, the legal team held individual meetings with IDPs in need of legal support. The main legal issues raised included unlawful occupation of property in places of origin, obtaining documentation, and legal counseling related to inheritance proceedings.
Requests for free legal aid were completed for all interested individuals, available documentation was collected, and appropriate legal advice was provided.
The event was organized with the support of the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration in Vranje, as well as the citizens’ association “Sestipe.” So far, the Open Door event has been implemented in Velika Plana and Aranđelovac, and in the coming period, our teams will visit other municipalities where there is a need for the legal assistance provided by the project.
