Mobile team visited clients in Smederevo and Kostolac

Junior Legal Adviser Mia Fukuda Sofijanić and trainees Adrian Hadži-Bulić i Sanja Mikić visited the Municipalities of Smederevo and Kostolac on July 10, 2017, where they met with four internally displaced people who have unsolved property and legal issues but are not able to come to one of the project’s offices.

The mobile team met at the office of a municipal trustee for refugees and migrations in Smederevo with one IDP from Gnjilane, who has been dealing with two legal issues regarding his property in Gnjilane since 2011. The processes that have started six years ago remain unsolved to date. The team took over the documentation and filled out the application for free legal aid.

After the meeting at the trustee’s office, the mobile team made a house visit to an IDP from Orahovac, whom the project is already representing in two property processes in Kosovo and Metohija.

The same day, the mobile team made two house visits in Kostolac Municipality, to the IDPs with very bad health conditions. The project is already representing one of them in the property dispute in Zaskok, Urosevac Municipality, while for other IDP is determined the legal issue for property usurpation in KiM existed, so the team filled out the application for legal aid and took the necessary documentation.

The field visits in Smederevo and Kostolac are part of the activities that the EU project „Protection and Promotion of Property Rights of Internally Displaced People, Refugees and Returnees Upon Readmission Agreements“ implements in collaboration with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration“ with purpose to increase the availability of free legal aid.
