LEGAL AID FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN PANČEVO
The legal team of the Belgrade office of the free legal aid project conducted a field visit to the City of Pančevo on May 23, 2024.
On this occasion, internally displaced persons residing in this city had the opportunity to present their legal issues to the legal team. A total of six meetings were held, with one of the displaced persons’ legal issues falling outside the project’s mandate. This person was given legal advice and referred to the competent institution.
Five IDPs approached the legal team regarding employment rights, specifically the obtaining of the M4 form from their place of origin and the payment of severance for termination of employment. For these five users, requests for legal assistance were completed and the appropriate documentation was collected. A total of six cases were opened and put into further procedure.
This field visit was organized with the support of the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration in Pančevo, who indicated that there is an even greater number of IDPs in need of legal aid. Therefore, the project team will work on organizing another visit to this city.
