FREE LEGAL AID FOR NEW BENEFICIARIES IN SVRLJIG
The mobile team of the free legal aid project’s office in Nis carried out on 22 December 2021 a field visit to Svrljig.
Nine refugees from the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina sought legal assistance on this occasion for their legal issues regarding obtaining their personal documents for the places of origin. Besides that, some of them also asked for legal advice concerning a buyout of apartments granted to them through housing programmes for refugees.
During this field visit two internally displaced persons also requested legal assistance regarding the compensation of the damaged property and the illegally occupied property in their places of origin. Adequate legal advice was given to all the beneficiaries, their available documentation was collected and applications for free legal aid filled out.
After the meetings with new beneficiaries, the team had a meeting with a representative of the local self-government to discuss the current situation regarding buyouts of the apartments granted to refugees in order to find the best solution for the beneficiaries who needed legal assistance during this field visit.
