
LEGAL TEAM SPOKE WITH THE BENEFICIARIES IN PROKUPLJE
Mobile team from the free legal aid project’s Niš office met on 1th of September 2017 in Prokuplje with 13 internally displaced people from Kosovo and Metohija who have some legal problem but are unable to come to the nearest office.
The team, consisting of a junior legal expert Vladana Savić and two trainees Miljana Đorđević and Dragan Gavrilović met at the office of a municipal trustee for refugees and migrations with 12 IDPs who the project is representing in nine property, 2 labor and one probation case. The team signed the agreements with the clients and collected documentation necessary for their representation.
Upon the meeting in the trustee’s office, the team visited an IDP from Suva Reka in his home in Prokuplje since, due to very bad health, he cannot travel to the project office. It is determined that he has three legal problems- two regarding the property and one regarding to obtaining the documents from the place of origin. The application for providing legal aid is filled out and the documentation is collected.
This visit, organized in collaboration with the trustee for refugees and migrations in Prokuplje is a part of activities of the EU project „Protection and Promotion of Property Rights of Internally Displaced People, Refugees and Returnees Upon Readmission Agreements“ that aim to increase availability of free legal aid for those in need.
Local media were interested in this visit to Prokuplje and were introduced to the purpose and results of the free legal aid project in an interview with a senior legal expert Jasmina Županjac.
